Leisure centre not rocket science, says Caruana

Government has not conducted a questionnaire/referendum to establish the demand for a ten pin bowling alley in Gibraltar, Chief Minister Peter Caruana said in reply to questions from Opposition spokesman for Culture Steven Linares.

Speaking about the Kings Bastion Leisure Centre project, Mr Caruana said a ‘leisure centre’ was an established concept and that the bowling alley was a very popular form of family entertainment both for adults and children.

Mr Caruana said that judging by the amount of Gibraltarian families he had seen at the ten pin bowling alley at Carrefour in Los Barrios whenever he went there with his own family, this would be “very popular indeed.”

Mr Linares was keen to know whether Government had tested public opinion as to preferences on the type of amenities to be included in the Leisure Centre.
