Arenas condemns Tripartite Forum

Javier Arenas, president of the PP Andalusia has said that the tripartite forum is a disaster for Spain.

In a statement to journalists he said that the Spanish Government should reconsider its approach to Gibraltar.

He was particularly critical about the British position on UK nuclear submarines and the reluctance by Britain to guarantee no repairs will take place on these in Gibraltar.

The issue is being used as a cudgel by the PP since PSOE (ruling government party) took a strong line during the HMS Tireless episode in 2000/2001.
