75 Years of the Gibraltar Museum

The sixth issue of “Gibraltar Heritage” is now available.

Published by the Ministry for Heritage, Culture, Youth and Sport, the magazine aims to heighten awareness of Gibraltar’s heritage, said a spokesman for the museum.

The first of the two Issues due out this year commemorates the 75th Anniversary of the The Gibraltar Museum, focusing on the history and evolution of this institution. Featured articles include “The Activities of the Gibraltar Museum”, “The Medieval Baths – History and Conservation Works”, as well as a series of “Spotlight on Collections” focusing on some of the more unusual artefacts stored in the depths of the museum.

Amongst the regular items included in this issue are a crossword, “Gibraltar Then and Now” and “Eye on good practice” features.

The full colour Gibraltar Heritage magazine is available from the Gibraltar Museum, the John Mackintosh Hall, the “Sentinel of the Mediterranean” Exhibition at the Casemates Gallery, and at numerous points throughout Gibraltar. As with previous issues, Gibraltar Heritage carries no cover price. Stocks of earlier issues of the magazine have run out but HTML versions are available online on the Gibraltar Museum website. Alternatively, there are reference copies available at the John Mackintosh Hall Library.
