No Smoking ban for Gibraltar Terminals

Gibraltar Government slaps No Smoking ban on travel terminalsA "No Smoking" policy will be implemented at Gibraltar’s terminals with effect from 15th September 2005, a Gibraltar Government spokesman said yesterday.

The terminals affected are the Air Terminal, the Coach Terminal, the Ferry Terminal and the Cruise Terminal.

Minister for Tourism Joe Holliday said:

“In the case of the Coach, Cruise and Air Terminals, smoking will be permitted on terraces and other non-enclosed areas.

A small smoking area will be provided in the cafeterias on a trial basis.

This policy falls in line with the global trend to ban smoking in public buildings, where many people gather and is intended to improve the comfort and ambient environment within these terminals for the benefit of all users of the terminals.”
