Juveniles arrested after burglaries probe

The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) said it was carrying out intensive investigations into a number of burglaries that occurred during the past week.

It follows the arrest of four persons, including three juveniles, a fortnight ago following an earlier spate of burglaries.

The incidents last week included a break-in at the Phoenix Snacks grocery store in Governor’s Street and a separate incident at the premises of Greenarc, on Convent Ramp.

The Gibraltar Tourist Board office at the Tower of Homage was also targeted last week.

An RGP spokesman said burglary sprees such as these “happen from time to time.” He stressed that CID officers were following leads on the latest cases and were confident of prompt results.
