Police arrest three juveniles

Spate of burglaries

Four persons, three of whom are juveniles, have been arrested by the Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) in connection with the recent spate of burglaries.

A police spokesman said search warrants were executed at their respective residences and a large amount of footwear had been seized.

An RGP spokesman said:

“In line with the RGP’s policing objectives and as a result of an ongoing investigation into the recent spate of burglaries, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department and from the Drug Squad, carried out a number of arrests and executed several search warrants.

These persons were interviewed under caution on tape in the presence of their respective parents. They have been bailed out to appear at New Mole House on different dates.

In consequence one other person, Joseph Macias 25, of 10/2 Road to the Lines, a shelf filler at a local supermarket, was arrested during the execution of one of the search warrants. He was subsequently charged on one count of possession of a controlled drug namely 16 grammes of cannabis resin. He was bailed out and appeared at the Magistrates Court yesterday."
