Montiel briefs Caruana on MoD meeting

A TGWU/Prospect delegation led by District Officer Luis Montiel yesterday briefed Chief Minister Peter Caruana on the recent meeting with senior MoD officials at PJHQ (Permanent Joint Headquarters, Northwood) in the UK as regards the contractorisation proposals for the naval base.

Ahead of Friday’s meeting with the local Command Secretary Phil Mallion, Mr Montiel reiterated that the Unions had managed to retrieve the situation from an MoD ‘fait accompli’ scenario, to one where “everything is still up for negotiation and consideration.”
