Looking at life in the Army

As part of its recruitment campaign the Royal Gibraltar Regiment is offering a three-day package next week to those interested in finding out what army life is all about, or who simply just want to know what it is all about.

The package of mainly military style activities called 'Look at Life’ is open to both men and women aged 16 to 27.

Over the past few months the Royal Gibraltar Regiment has been actively recruiting by carrying out a series of presentations, and manning their own display stall on different days both at the Piazza and at Casemates.

“We are looking for the potential soldier,” said a spokesman for the regiment.

"The three day package will include a day of adventure training, a day in the tunnels of Gibraltar, and a village assault course and command task.

Activities will include paintball, raft building, using night vision devices in the World War II tunnels, boat rides, watersports, using a rifle simulator, firing air rifles, team sports and whole lot more.

'Look at Life’ will be held as from this Monday 22 to next Wednesday 24. The day begins at 9am and ends at 1pm.

Any young person is welcome, and the experience is free of charge.”

Anyone interested can contact the regiment’s 24 hour hotline on 58009727.
