Seven juveniles arrested by RGP

Seven juveniles have been arrested in connection with different offences as part of a Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) operation against delinquency.

Last night an RGP spokesman said:

“Due to a recent spate of thefts from motorcars a joint operation (Operation Kerry) was mounted by the RGP with officers from the CID Drug squad, Financial Crime Unit, Community Support Unit and Operations Division.

As a result of Operation Kerry a total of fifteen persons were arrested for offences ranging from theft, going equipped for theft, causing damage, tampering with motor vehicles, obstructing police and possession of a controlled drug.

Out of these fifteen persons, seven were juveniles and they are currently on police bail. One man was fined £300 for the theft of motorcar emblems and ordered to pay £135 compensation. Another man is currently remanded in custody awaiting trial for offences of causing damage and tampering with motor vehicles. The remainder of the persons are all on police bail”.
