Caruana sends message of condolences to London

As London was still reeling with shock and counting its dead and wounded in the aftermath of the underground train terrorist bombings, Chief Minister Peter Caruana yesterday sent a message of “condolences and solidarity” with the British capital following the attacks.

Meanwhile the Gibraltar Government has confirmed that there is no information about any Gibraltarian having been caught up in any of these incidents.

Mr Caruana said:

“His Excellency the Governor, who has constitutional responsibility for internal security, is putting out a public statement about the security implications for Gibraltar.

The Royal Gibraltar Police has, as a matter of precaution, increased its anti-terrorist vigilance.”

For its part the Gibraltar Government has also as a precaution instructed Customs, Security and Immigration Ltd point of entry personnel, Port Authority and the Gibraltar Bus Company to step up their vigilance and security awareness.
