Talks are not predetermined, Caruana tells Marbella audience

Chief Minister Peter Caruana, speaking at the Club Internacional de Marbella on Thursday evening, told an audience that the new process of dialogue cannot be predetermined but had seen a move from stagnation to several forums set up to discuss issues of practical co-operation.

He confirmed that the next talks of the tripartite forum will take place in early July ‘outside Spain’.

Mr Caruana met in Malaga yesterday with the Spanish Foreign Ministry’s director for Europe Jose Pons but declined to enter into detail on the discussions which had been announced as preparatory and agenda setting.

Technical groups have been discussing Spanish pensions, the airport and communications as well as port co-operation and environmental collaboration.
