Monarch Scheduled sees May traffic increase by 38%

Low cost airline Monarch Scheduled continues to grow rapidly as it announces a 38% increase in passenger traffic during May 2005, compared with the same period last year.

During this time, Monarch Scheduled flew 239,074 passengers, compared with 173,253 in May 2004. Load factor was 73%.

May saw the low cost carrier launch brand new routes from London Gatwick to Lisbon and Granada.

This followed on from the airline’s successful launch of a base from Birmingham International Airport, and new routes from Manchester to Madrid, Naples and Almeria in April.

May also heralded Monarch Scheduled’s five years of flying from Manchester Airport.
