Gravedigger found Guilty in wounding case

A jury at the Supreme Court found Leopoldo Dellipiani, 50, of 1 Renown House guilty of having wounded a work colleague David Parody on October 10 2003.

Both men were gravediggers at the time.

In returning the verdict the jury was reducing the offence on the indictment which was one of wounding with intent.

The incident happened at North Front Cemetery resulting in David Parody having to receive hospital treatment.

The Chief Justice adjourned the case to June 6 for sentence and requested a probation officer’s report on Dellipiani.
