Spread of increases hits every journey

Government Charges

The Gibraltar Gazette carrying the spread of increases announced last week, yesterday should that everything from the cost of a taxi ride to the final journey in the hearse will cost more.

A series of regulations include tobacco licence fees that go up from £500 to £1,000, Petroleum port charges that rise from £6.50 to £100, £5 up on business registration, increases in some employment charges, an increase in the Nature Reserve visit charges. Road tax is up depending on weight starting at £55 for cars not exceeding 507kg, £60 for 507-762 kg, £65 for 762-1016 kg and in phases reaching £150 for over 2286kg.

The FCA on the electricity bill goes up from 0.00028 to 0.000326. Connection charges are also up £10 as are other charges.
