Queen’s Birthday Gun Salute

Soldiers of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment will be conducting a Royal Gun Salute on the occasion of Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday today at midday.

The salute of 21 guns will be fired immediately outside the Tower in HM Naval Base.

A Commander British Forces spokesman said:

“The Honorary Colonel of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment, Colonel Eddie Guerrero will be the inspecting officer and The Pipe Band of the Royal Gurkha Rifles will perform a short display immediately prior to the salute being fired.

Members of the public are welcome to come and view the salute. Tickets at no cost can be obtained through the Tourist Information office in the Duke of Kent House. Spectators are asked to arrive between 11.15 and 11.30 am.”
