Corporation of London Guests of Gibraltar

A delegation from the Corporation of London is visiting Gibraltar this week at the invitation of the Government of Gibraltar.

The delegation consists of the Chairman, John Barker, the Deputy Chairman, John Brewster, the Chief Executive, Bryn Aldridge and the Director of Environmental Services, Roger Watson.

The Corporation of London provides a diverse range of local authority services within the City of London.

A link has already been established between the Ministry of Social and Civic Affairs and the Trading Standards Service of the Corporation relating to consumer affairs.

“The main purpose of the visit is to bolster the link which already exists by exploring ways of providing mutual assistance, support and sharing of information relating to areas of services which both sides have in common, especially consumer affairs and trading standards,” said the Minister for Social & Civic Affairs, Yvette del Agua, who is hopeful that this working relationship will serve to develop and improve upon the services that the Office of Consumer Affairs provides to the public.

The delegation will be paying a courtesy call on the Chief Minister this morning and are to attend a lunch hosted by Mrs del Agua.
