GONHS at migration conference

Keith Bensusan, who is currently conducting research into the migration of birds in the area of the Strait of Gibraltar with Leeds University, represented the Gibraltar Ornithological Natural History Society (GONHS) at a major international conference in Wilhelmshaven, Germany, last week.

The conference, organised by the Max Planck Institute, was the Final Meeting of a project funded by the European Science Foundation to investigate the migration of birds.

The conference, which was attended by top scientists from around the world, looked at many aspects of bird migration, including the ecology of migration, physiology, and the effects of global warming.

Keith Bensusan presented a poster of results of research conducted by GONHS in Gibraltar on bird of prey migration which he has co-authored with Ernest Garcia and John Cortes.
