• Producer James Neish promises major format change.

Stage One Productions will again produce Gibraltar’s most important beauty pageant.

Miss Gibraltar 2005 will be staged in St Michael’s Cave on Saturday 2 July. Local broadcaster James Neish will head the Stage One Production team for the third year running.

Confirming he would again produce the show Mr Neish acknowledged that both he and his team would be facing their biggest challenge to date.

Taking the show back to St Michael’s Cave will be a challenge in itself. Although this is a great venue it does come with its problems. We are aware we have had a successful run of ideas over the past two years and that we need to produce some changes and revamp our ideas from the past so there will be major changes to the format we established two years ago. There will be room for experiment,” he commented enthusiastically.

Work on the show will begin shortly.

We want to produce another amazing show. The team is ready to embark on the project with energy and enthusiasm. The recruitment campaign to encourage contestants to enter the 2005 contest is scheduled to start in mid-March. We will shortly start looking for contestants who want to share in another great experience with us,” said Mr Neish.

Over the past two years we have worked with two groups of contestants who have been excellent to work with and we look forward to meeting all the new future contestants who would like to join us and face the challenge with us.

Mr Neish added that both he and his team were very pleased that that the Gibraltar Tourist Board had once again put their trust in them, and that they all look forward to the challenges ahead.

Meanwhile the Gibraltar Tourist Board yesterday confirmed that there had been three tenders for the organisation, production and staging of the show and that the tender had been awarded to Stage One Productions.

They have produced the show in the last two years. Their proposal promises to develop on the innovative ideas they have presented in previous editions of the show, said a spokesperson for the Gibraltar Tourist Board.
