Record sum for Charities

The Tercentenary Christmas Fair held at The Convent in December raised £17,500 – the largest amount ever collected.

Cheques were presented by Lady Richards yesterday to the representatives of the rehabilitation centre at Bruce’s Farm which received £15,000 towards a recreation room and the Gibraltar Senior Citizens Association which received £2,500 to enable them to buy panic buttons for the elderly.

Lady Richards, Chair of the Christmas Fair Committee, was delighted with everyone’s generosity and said “This is fantastic news for the projects we are supporting”.
