More arrests in "Operation Breaker"

Royal Gibraltar Police officers have made another arrest under Operation Breaker.

At about 3.30am on Tuesday CID officers arrested Donavan Martinez, 19, unemployed of 405 Ocean Heights, for the offence of burglary at The St. Michael’s Cabin in the Upper Rock. A burglary had taken place minutes earlier at these premises. Access had been gained by forcing entry via the premises front door and a poker machine forced open. Monies totalling £450 were stolen.

Police allege that most of the proceeds of the burglary were found in Martinez’s vehicle G 97588 when searched. Three further persons were arrested in connection with this burglary: Christian Chipolina, 25, of 10 Rosia Steps, unemployed;
Shaun Caruana, 19, of 62/18/19 Flat Bastion Road; and a sixteen year old juvenile.

The four persons were interviewed at New Mole House and later jointly charged with one count of burglary.

Meanwhile, in connection with a burglary at Belli’s Hair & Beauty Salon Monday for which a Spanish male national has already appeared in court, a further male person was arrested on Tuesday afternoon. Spanish national Miguel Angel Gonzalez Barrus, 27, of 21 Castle Street. Gonzalez Barrus was interviewed at New Mole House and subsequently charged with one count of burglary.
