Man sentenced to prison on cocaine charges

Forty year old James Prescott of 6 Bakewell House, was sentenced to a term of two and a half years imprisonment at the Supreme Court yesterday, after pleading guilty to a charge of possession with intent to supply 18 grams of cocaine.

Prescott had been arrested on June 11th 2004 by RG Police Drug Squad officers as a result of drugs Operation Koi, when a search warrant executed at his residence resulted in the seizure of a total of 254 wrappers of Cocaine, a class ‘A’ drug, weighing approximately 18 grams. Another man, arrested at the same time in relation to the same operation, had charges against him withdrawn at the Supreme Court.
