Armed forces minister on the rock

Adam Ingram MP - UK Minister of State for the Armed Forces on flying visit to Gibraltar

The UK Minister of State for the Armed Forces is on a flying visit to Gibraltar. Adam Ingram arrived from London yesterday for a series of meetings and briefings during a tight programme – including a meeting with Chief Minister Peter Caruana.

A British Forces spokesman said:

This has been Mr. Ingrams’ first opportunity to meet with recently appointed Commander British Forces, Commodore Allan Adair. The programme has also allowed him to meet with Headquarters staff as well as members of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment. Mr. Ingram has also been able to view the new housing developments at Trafalgar Heights and Chilton Court.

After flying into Gibraltar Airport Mr. Ingram was met by Commodore Adair and Acting Governor David Blunt. Mr. Ingram was appointed Minister of State for the Armed Forces in 2001. He has been Member of Parliament for East Kilbride since 1987 and has also served as Minister of State at the Northern Ireland Office.
