New Commander British Forces Gibraltar takes command

Royal Gibraltar Regiment provided a 21-gun salute yesterday afternoon outside Naval Headquarters in the Dockyard to mark the appointment of Commodore Allan Adair to his new post as Commander British Forces Gibraltar.

Governor Sir Francis Richards and Lady Richards were in attendance together with all the commanding officers in Gibraltar and other services and civilian personnel.

A British military forces spokesman said:

After the event it was also time to wish the outgoing Colonel, Tom Camp, a fine farewell as he leaves his post as Chief of Staff and Deputy Commander British Forces after a thoroughly rewarding three year tour in Gibraltar. After being given the honour of firing one of the 105mm guns of the Royal Gibraltar Regt his fellow officers gave him a traditional farewell as they pulled him out of the naval dock in an open topped land-rover.
