Minister Linares in Los Barrios education exchange

Educational exchanges with Los Barrios that have been taking place over the past five years could now be broadened to the rest of the Campo area, Minister Bernard Linares and his Los Barrios colleague Miguel Ángel Rodríguez said yesterday at the end of their meeting held in the Campo town. Mr Linares and Sr Rodríguez reviewed the work they had carried out at an institutional level during this time and analysed “the mutual knowledge achieved by both educational communities.”

Further activities are also planned for both 12 year olds and students in the older age group. Gibraltarian students will be taken on guided trips to the Palmones River and the Parque Natural Los Alcornocales and Natural History Museum while Los Barrios students will be taken to the local museum, Alameda Botanical Gardens, the St Michael’s Cave and tunnels. Further educational exchanges have also been discussed with the possibility of local teachers going to Los Barrios to teach English and their Spanish colleagues doing likewise with the Spanish language in Gibraltar schools.
