Government lost all sense of priorities, says Randall

The GSLP/Libs have accused the Gibraltar Government of “constantly demonstrating that they have lost all sense of priorities.”

In a statement issued yesterday Opposition spokesman for Traffic Lucio Randall said:

“Members of the public have approached us claiming that tests for motorcycle driving licences have been suspended until such time as the motorcycle used by the Driving Examiners for this purpose has been repaired or replaced. This unacceptable state of affairs has been going on since shortly before Christmas 2004 and has been caused by inordinate delay in the Department receiving the authority by the Government, to proceed with this expenditure.”

“The Government has an obligation to provide the necessary facilities for the public to be able to take driving tests in order to obtain a licence. It is not enough for the Government to provide any excuses about shortages of money, in failing to meet their unquestionable obligations to the public.”

“This appears to be yet another example of this Government’s inability to take decisions in a timely manner to ensure that the public is not unduly inconvenienced. It is equally unacceptable that the Government should stop providing funds in areas which directly affect the general public.”
