Ferry Terminal Incident

There were heated arguments at the ferry terminal yesterday after a few hundred Moroccans who had bought tickets to return home were left stranded on the quayside.

According to reports the company had sold far in excess of the vessel’s maximum passenger capacity of 500 and was unable to take any more passengers even though they had all paid for their ticket. There were rowdy scenes and the RG Police were called to restore order.

Moroccan workers have in the past complained bitterly about the poor service they get from the ferry company.
