Bomb Scare

There was a bomb scare outside the Bristol Hotel yesterday morning at 8.45am when a suspect parcel was reported to the police and the area was evacuated as a safety precaution.

The suspect bomb had been left on a rubbish bin outside the Hotel. It was later found to be filled with orange peeling, old papers and a broken bulb.

Police cordoned off the area and evacuated the Bristol Hotel, as well as surrounding buildings. Traffic was diverted away from the location and the RAF bomb disposal unit was called to the scene to assess the situation. After some deliberation it was decided to blow up the package.
